I was out walking my dog Lola a few days ago, and on our way home we came upon a stoat who'd been hit by a car. Poor fella was unconscious but still breathing. So I took Lola home where I got the car, a carrier, the OH and some gardening gloves and a towel. Sadly on our return he'd passed away. He'd been hit on the head, so I guess he never had a chance. We took him home and buried him, and I'll be looking for a nice rosebush to plant on the spot. I was gutted, I've known for a while these guys are running around the area, and it makes me very angry that people can't drive slowly on quiet country roads, out of respect for the wildlife. Stoats are heavily endangered in Ireland :rose_mini:

The Deadly Donkey

Beware of the Deadly Donkey
Falling slowly from the sky
You can choose the way
You live, me friend
But not the way you die

I live in the country and I've never even seen one, that's how rare they are around my home. So sad and true that people are reckless and dangerous on quiet roads where wildlife live.
RIP poor stoat
